Helki Jackson
Trauma Specialist
Helki Jackson brings over a decade of dedicated experience in mental health awareness, advocacy, and community leadership, specializing in culturally informed and trauma-responsive approaches that support youth and underserved populations. An Eastern Michigan University alumna, she integrates counseling, education, and the arts to support emotional wellness, equity, and healing.
Throughout her career, Helki has designed and facilitated trauma-informed workshops, youth development initiatives, and community-based programs centered on mental wellness, identity, conflict resolution, and leadership. As the Founder and Executive Director of DRIVE Youth Organization, Helki creates transformative programs that use performing arts to help young people explore mental health, build resilience, and develop healthy coping strategies.
In her leadership roles at the University of Michigan and Washtenaw Community College, Ms. Jackson has mentored undergraduate and graduate students while working with marginalized youth and families to improve access to emotional and academic support.
She is a trained Circle Keeper with the Dispute Resolution Center and currently serves as the International Community Outreach Liaison for Next Level Living South Africa. Her work reflects a global and cross-cultural lens, with a strong foundation in restorative practices, identity development, and community healing.
In clinical settings, she specializes in trauma therapy, using a person-centered, holistic approach rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and strength-based practices.
